Z Cyriac
My passion, the working
dog, especially the majestic extensive history of the working German Shepherd
Dog. This drove me to start my
breeding program. Finding the proper
aggression, temperament, and health for
Police K9, protection and certain
sport
work was difficult. I found kennels breeding
for all the wrong reasons and not for the
betterment of the breed. I attained
relationships with several US and European
kennels that have breed for years even
decades for the right reasons that helped me
gain knowledge of this wonderful breed and
others.
After researching for years I found the
bloodlines I was looking for in my
foundation female for my German Shepherd breeding program.
In 2007 I purchased Köttorps Maia. I
breed only for a purpose, betterment of the
breed and the traits I like to see in the
working line German Shepherd Dog, natural
aggression, relentless workability and
willingness to please the handler. Natural
aggression seems harder and harder to find
in today's working dog as well as athletic
size and a hard full bite I place a
large emphasis in researching and evaluating
the bloodlines as well as the traits, drives
and temperament of the individual dogs. One
thing that I have always admired were Police
K9's. I have been a Law Enforcement
Officer since 1998 and have a great sense of
service to the community and department.
I have always been amazed by what the Police
K9 does day in and day out. This too
was a great motivation for my breeding
program. As my breeding program matures my
goal is to donate a puppy from my litters to
departments who cannot afford to purchase a
K9 and in need of one. I only breed one or
two litters a year. Our dogs are working
dogs and family companions. My wife and two
boys are very active with our dogs and enjoy
this wonderful breed as
much as I do.
A kennel name was
difficult to think of, I wanted a name with
a true purpose. I decided to use my
family history as the name of the breeding
program. Cyriac is the surname of my last
name. In ancient Greece in the
Peloponnese region, the Cyriac family was
said to be one of the families that devoted
their faith, time and property to ensure
that Christianity would survive the
onslaughts of the Roman Empire. Similar to
what I am trying to achieve with my breeding
program, keeping the term "working" in
the German Shepherd Dog alive and strong.
I hope to breed my first litter in 2010.
