I
originally got involved in protection dog training while working
for the Sheriff’s department as a Reserve Deputy. Most
people on my department did not like taking bites from the dogs
or laying tracks and hiding for an hour or so until being
found, so while on patrol one night I was asked if I would be
interested in taking bites and laying tracks for the department
dogs. Since then I have been hooked! I purchased my
first working dog, a Belgian Malinois, from a small kennel in
Florida. I have competed and titled in ASR and PSA.
I have been active in training dogs for protection, sport and
police work since 1999. I travel from time to time
attending seminars and workshops in various dog sports. I
am a member of the Protection Sports Association (better know as
PSA),
Schutzhund USA
and
O. G. Indianapolis Schutzhund and Polizei Club.
My true passion and interest is in realistic type sport (PSA).
I plan on competing in PSA, Schutzhund and possibly SDA.
